Homemade Tea Latte Recipe
A tea latte is simply strong tea concentrate combined with steamed or frothed milk — no espresso machine required, just a strong brew and a whisk or frother.
Ingredients (serves 1)
- 2 teaspoons CTC or Orthodox black tea
- 0.5 cup water
- 0.75 cup milk
- Sugar or honey to taste
- Pinch of cinnamon or cardamom (optional)
Method
- Steep the tea in the water for 4-5 minutes to brew a strong concentrate.
- Strain and set aside.
- Heat the milk until steaming (not boiling), then froth using a whisk, frother, or by shaking in a sealed jar.
- Pour the tea concentrate into a cup, top with the frothed milk, and sweeten to taste.
- Dust with cinnamon or cardamom if using.
Tips
Brewing the tea extra strong is essential here — a normal-strength brew will taste washed out once milk is added. Whole or steamed milk froths better than skimmed for a proper latte texture.
Best made with our CTC Tea for a bold, chai-latte style base.
